Mount Rushmore National Memorial, known as the “Shrine of Democracy,” has become one of the most iconic images of America and an international tourist attraction. In addition to the monument, visitors can tour the avenue of flags, amphitheater, Lincoln Borglum Visitor Center, and Sculptor’s studio. There is also a gift shop, hiking trail, and the Carver’s Cafe & Ice Cream, which serves up the ice cream recipe of Thomas Jefferson. Audio tours are available in the building across from the information center.
Dine outdoors in a garden setting with a special view of Mt. Rushmore. Ride scenic chairlift up to find waterfalls, panoramic views, and thousands of flowers in granite-bordered beds. Open-air café offers salads, grilled-to-order burgers and other sandwiches, ice cream, and ice-cold beer. Everyone enjoys "a table with a view"!
